I am Sandra from Palakkad, Kerala. I came to know about the course through my relatives and friends. My challenge was language. I did not know anything about Tamil language and Tamil people. This gave me a fear to get out of my comfort zone.

People told me not to go to other places, stay here and study. They asked to me study BSc Nursing. My mother and uncle supported my decision to join BSc Optometry. And now I feel that I am extremely lucky to have made the right decision of joining this course. I did not listen to the negative advice from people. I just ignored them and I stood strongly on my decision.

Qualifying in the NEET Exam and doing MBBS will be the dream of all biology students. I too had it and I was not able to get it. But I wanted a similar course like MBBS which help me to serve the people and I wanted to choose a career related to medical field at any cost.

Optometry is a best course for me to work with people by treating them for eye disorders. The practical classes at Inlife Institute of Vision Science and Management are very interesting and now I am able to use the various optometry equipments such as retinoscopy, keratometer and slitlamp confidently.

I am Arun Mani from Coimbatore. My father’s friend suggested this course to me. When I was studying 12th, I was very comfortable in my school hostel. But when I joined BSc Optometry at IIVM College of Optometry, I had to travel by government bus daily and as there are no frequent buses to my locality, I found this a bit challenging at the beginning. My brother, sister and other relatives even suggested me to discontinue and join some other course in a nearby college. I was very much confused at that time and then I realized that Optometry is the best option to serve people. I accepted the challenges and I started learning towards my journey of becoming an Optom.

At the beginning I heard lot of negative advice from people but I was strong in my goal. So i never gave any importance to what other people said.

NEET is required for getting an MBBS seat. But lot of students fail in NEET exam and they even become depressed because they cannot achieve their dreams. Optometry is a good option for students who failed in NEET exam. This course gives students an opportunity to interact with people and treat their diseases. Here students feel lucky that their dreams could be achieved.

Initially i was very confused about what i want to do in life. After joining Inlife Institute of Vision Science and Management, I feel very confident as we grow every day. I can do greater things with this kind of education and skills learnt at IIVM. This confidence gave me a very big dream i.e I want to build an eye hospital in Manapparai, Trichy.

I am Nittumol Babu and I am from Idukki, Kerala. I knew about this course from the internet. I am interested in medical field that is why I selected BSc Optometry and also my parents suggested to do this course. Comparing with other courses, I feel good and satisfied with this course. About this course, in my point of view, its a course with a purpose to help others in their challenges.

I face lot of challenges because its the first time that i am staying without my parents. The most difficult challenge for me was language because I am a Malayalee. It took some time for me to cope up with others in my class and hostel. Now i am able to appreciate even without being in the comfort zone. If we are willing to come out from our comfortable shelter, there are a lot of possibilities and opportunities in front of us.

My friends and relatives gave a lot of negative feedback about hostel stay and distance from home. But my parents have always supported me and encouraged me. People do give a lot of advice on attempting new things. But it is not as they say, because they have not seen what is here. I am lucky to do this course in IIVM (Inlife institute of Vision Science and Management). I feel I am at the right place.

I was a very shy person and i was never confident about myself. I feared facing others. But after getting into IIVM College of Optometry, my whole attitude changed. Now I am able to do anything with confidence and I am ready to face any challenge. My dream became big day by day. My dream is to become an optometrist, achieve high positions and touch people’s lives by preventing avoidable blindness.

I am Jeevika from Coimbatore. I searched the internet for paramedical courses and that is when I came across Optometry. I felt nervous to select a course where my friends will not be accompanying me. People asked me “ Are you going to be a eye doctor?” They even asked, “ How will you correct other’s vision problems when you have vision problem in your own eye?” . I replied to them that only a person with problems can understands others problem. I am feeling lucky now because I am able to learn more about eye problems.

MBBS and BDS are not the only option in the medical field. There are many other options. Optometry is similar to MBBS because here also you will interact with patients, find solutions for their eye problems and help in preventing avoidable blindness.

Even though I am a bit talkative, I felt shy to talk in the public. After joining Inlife Institute of Vision Science and Management I have developed public speaking, learning skills and also my personality. I have benefitted a lot from the personality development classes at IIVM College of Optometry.

I want to do post graduation in Optometry and get placed in an MNC. After completing my studies I wish to do social service and prevent avoidable blindness.

I was interested to do this course but when i expressed my desire to my parents and relatives, they asked me to do some other course. Many people were not familiar to Optometry at that time. I am basically a quite person with stage fear. This was the attitude which I had before joining IIVM College of Optometry. Now things have changed. I find myself more confident now and i am able to interact with people easily. We have personality development classes every week. These classes have helped me a lot to realize myself worth and I am clear about my path for the future. I am really thankful for this opportunity.

I only dream, aim and goal is to become a doctor. I will do further studies after my UG. I want to do post graduation and i want to work abroad as an eye doctor. LONDON is my dream destination. I will do everything to reach my goal. I will reach my destination in few years.

I am Vibiksha Nagasri from Coimbatore. I knew about this course through counselling programme held at Ranganathar College. At beginning, I felt nervous to select a course where none of my friends will accompany me. People don’t understand the course either. People said the course is unique like you. Negative advices from people will pull us down. But I knew what I had been made for and I held my chin up.

NEET exam is a good opportunity and when it knocks your door, you should try it. But don’t hang on it for ever. There are other things to cherish in your life. I felt optometry is an alternative to MBBS where I could save the vision of someone in front of me. I was not clear about my career path before joining IIVM College of Optometry. But now i have clarity about my future. My dream is to pursue post-graduation in Optometry and land on MNC.

I felt very lonely as I had to stay in hostel away from my family. As I did not know Tamil, it made me all the more fearful and nervous.

When people heard about me joining this course, they criticized me saying “ Are you going to start optical shop”. But my family members gave more confidence and support. I tried to ignore the negative comments. Most people do not know about this course. When we start a new thing, the society will pull us down, so I tried to avoid all the negatives.

NEET exam is a good opportunity to learn about the completion in the present world, so students should try it. Like MBBS, optometry is an independent course. Optometry deals with eye related problems. Optometry is a primary health care profession. Optometrists treat vision problems.

Before joining Inlife Institute of Vision Science and Management, I was not able to address people, I did not have enough confidence and I am not bold that much. But now I am able to address a huge gathering confidently. Now I also have clarity about my aim in this career as an Optometrist.

After completing my course, I want to do fellowship in Contact lens. I wish to work in an MNC for years and after that I wish to start an independent hospital in a rural area.

I like this course because of its uniqueness. After getting low marks in 12th standard, I had lot of fear, how my life would be. Other them MBBS, I did not have any idea about any other course. Everyone around me said optometry is a new course; how you will assure that it will give great future to you. And some of them said it is one of the upcoming worthful course. As i studied in a boy’s school, initially it was a challenge for me to cope up with my classmates because most of them were girls. I am Praveen Kumar from Theni. I completed my school in Aundipatti. I am doing my higher education in IIVM College of Optometry Coimbatore. I knew about Optometry much earlier as my uncle is also an Optometrist. I wanted to do MBBS, but I found NEET exam very difficult and i was not able to score good marks. My parents suggested me to repeat NEET exam with one more year of coaching classes. But instead I opted to join for B Sc. Optometry, as it is similar to MBBS.

I find that my attitude and outlook about life has changed a lot after joining Inlife Institute of Vision Science and Management. Personality development classes have made me a better person in many aspects. My parents are happy to see the positive changes in me and they feel that i am more matured now.

When i got my NEET result, i was depressed that i cant go ahead with my goal of becoming a doctor. it was during this time, one of my friends introduced me to Optometry. But since i came out of my comfort zone, i learnt what life is all about.

Many of my relatives were discouraging me at the beginning saying that i shouldn’t join this course and do some basic science degree. But i wanted to do something different and Optometry came as a blessing to me. According to me negative people are to boost one towards success. They are necessary for one to learn and grow in their life. We should not let others negativity to limit our dreams. We should take healthy risks and trust ourself.

NEET or any other exam is not something to determine the rest of our life. I would say, opportunities are endless; you CAN be whatever you want to be. I changed my dream from MBBS to Optometry. Optometry is a vision care Science professional course.

Before i was very emotional, i did not know how to control my emotions. I never cared about my health before. After learning some values, i learned to manage my emotions and now i care about my physical and mental health. My positive attitude is at maximum. This institute supports me to achieve my dreams.

I joined IIVM college of optometry. This was the first time I had to stay away from home. It gave a lot of fear as many things were new in this place.

Though this hurt me a lot I took their negative advise as a challenge and I feel that this would help me to move forward towards success. After joining IIVM college of optometry I have become a more confident person. I have improved my public speaking skills and now I am comfortable doing seminars and presentations. The eye camps organised by this institute in various schools, orphanages etc has helped me to interact with people. I felt very lucky and blessed when I attended a camp for the old aged people and they gave a lot of blessings. My dream is to help and serve poor people in the rural areas.
